Good Afternoon Everyone,

I just wanted to send out an update on business surrounding the levy this fall. Your Levy Committee has had several meetings with Range Marketing over the past couple of weeks, working on the language and graphics for the mailers, signs and a possible billboard, if we can finalize placement. We're being diligent in fine-tuning the language so that we communciate accurately the benefits for a "yes" vote. We generated some questions to clarify certain bullet points that will be displayed on the back of the mailer and will be having another meeting with them soon to work towards a final proof. They also came to Hayden today to take some updated photographs that will be used on the mailers as well.

I will be meeting with Brother Josh Hoston from CDA L710 tomorrow to purchase walk-packet supplies, so we can have everything ready for canvassing that will begin this next month. President Larson and the levy committee are still extrapolating different ideas and approaches that will couple with traditional neighborhood canvassing, to make sure that we inform as many of our constituents as possible. The bulk of the canvassing workload will center around precincts with historical good voter turnout, as well as population density. Brother Aaegesen, who is in charge of our Field Operations for this levy, is developing a calendar and we will get that out to everyone as soon as possible. We will need as many of our members as possible to be active in order for this venture to be successful.

I also wanted to inform the Local that every Northern Lakes Fire District Fire Commissioner position up for election this year is contested. I was told about this earlier today and I felt it necessary to get this out to everybody in our Local. The current condition of our PAC fund is dismal, to say the least. We currently don't know a lot about two of the three candidates going up against our incumbent Commissioners. President Larson said that he will be doing what he can to collect more information about them. This will be a separate issue that we all will need to be prepared to discuss, if it's determined that any of these new candidates are going to be unfriendly to our Local. All the new candidates have already been vetted to make sure that they meet the qualifications to campaign. President Larson will update all of us as soon as he knows more.
